Zion , Indiana/ 5’ 11”/farm family, dad-carpenter/ graduated Huntington College (United Brethren in Christ) 1957/ majors: math, chemistry, French/ choir/construction during the summers/ HS and college teaching career/ commercial pilot’s license/ MA. in math 1965 Central Michigan U./principal of mission HS in Sierra Leone 1966-69/ joined Wycliffe 1970/ married Carol Gratrix June 1979/ Translation of the Lama NT, northern Togo, West Africa completed and dedicated May 1994 and still committed to the Lama project/ computer software consulting and training at JAARS since August 1994 / SS teacher.

Enjoys: flying (sacrificed on the wedding altar!), reading, quartet singing, ping pong, puzzles, Scrabble.

Carol: Born in N. Hollywood, CA/ 5’ 7”/ dad--industrial engineer/ moved to N.Y. State 1962/ graduated Houghton College 1969/ French major/ taught HS French 2 years/ joined WBT 1970/ 7 years in Godié translation project, Ivory Coast, West Africa/ Masters in Literacy Communications, Syracuse University 1976/ writer with the JAARS Creative Services team and editor of Rev. 7 Every Nation People Language.

Enjoys: reading, gardening, photography, art, needlework, Scrabble, collecting bird figurines.

Daniel Luke: born in Bluffton IN 1981 /in and out of Africa! / pursued electronics in community college/ 6’1” & 220 lbs./ straight brown hair / ham operator / baptized Christian. He is a freelance graphic designer and put together our website. Dan is learning Korean and also helping South Koreans improve their English.

Benjamin Joel: born in Togo 1983/ survived two serious illnesses/ junior at U. of N.C. at Charlotte in finance / 6’1” & 175 lbs./ beautiful blond curly hair /baptized Christian/ great sense of humor. Spent June and July 2004, 2005, and 2006 on a Myrtle Beach, S.C., discipleship and evangelism project. Graduated U of NC at Charlotte in May 2007 with a degree in finance.
