On staff for TOTAL It Up! mobilization courses, Neal teaches some of the classes and facilitates others. Participants experience the teachers, a monolingual demonstration, language learning with speakers of a foreign language, morning devotions, visits in homes of Wycliffe members for ethnic dinners each evening, after-dinner speakers, morning devotions speakers, tours of the JAARS Center and Alphabet Museum, continental breakfasts, lunches in Townsend Dining Room, and housing … whew! If you got out of breath reading that, think of actually experiencing this non-stop inspirational and informative course lasting from Sunday night till Friday afternoon! We pray God uses it to call more people into Bible translation and its support. Participants' comments on TIU have included: “It was a joy to listen to people who had ‘been there and done it.’” “One-on-one discussion with translators was great!” “We had a great group of teachers and speakers!” “I liked the way the instructors respected each other and the students enough to stay on schedule.” “The classes and accommodations were great!” “The food was incredible!” “I learned so much.” “The TIU course exceeded my expectations and now I am looking forward to further training at GIAL” (Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics, in Dallas). “You can’t improve on perfection!” And many wrote, “This course far exceeded my expectations!” |
